Field Investigator Jobs in Wisconsin
A Field Investigator in the security industry is responsible for conducting detailed investigations to gather facts and evidence for various types of inquiries. They generally work for private security companies, law enforcement agencies, insurance companies, or legal firms. Their tasks may include surveillance, interviews, information gathering, evidence collection, document review, and report writing. They may also use specialized equipment, such as video cameras, to gather information, and they often work in the field, traveling to various locations as part of their investigations.
Before becoming a Field Investigator, a person may have roles such as a Police Officer, Security Officer, or Private Investigator. These roles provide the necessary skills and experience, such as observation skills, analytical thinking, communication skills, and understanding of legal procedures. Potential Field Investigators should also have relevant certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). These certifications are provided by professional associations like ASIS International and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and demonstrate the holder's competency in conducting investigations.
