JOB TITLE SAFETY DIRECTOR
JOB SUMMARY
Manage team of Safety professionals to establish andimplement the Safety Program of current and proposed operations for MathesonTri-Gas, Inc. Responsible foridentifying, defining, managing, and executing a Safety Program thatestablishes a safe work environment, complies with all regulatory requirements,and drives continuous improvement.
Essential Function
Manage team of Safety professionals in establishing, implementing, and enforcing MATHESONs Safety Program.
Develop and implement SAFETY Programs to create a safe working environment at MATHESON.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Interpret regulatory requirements to ensure policies and procedures are in place to protect the interests of all MATHESON properties.
Manage all SAFETY issues related to new materials, processes, and construction.
Identify and assess risks related to SAFETY.
Complete developed projects to minimize SAFETY risks associated with all MATHESON operations.
Ensure MATHESON Safety Programs comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Monitor and enforce SAFETY regulations and policies to prevent accidents/incidents and injuries.
Manage facility SAFETY audits and inspection process as well as analyzing and tracking audit results and trends.
Oversee and manage completion of incident investigations and appropriate corrective actions for SAFETY accidents/incidents.
Work with Mathesons Business Unit Leaders to address SAFETY issues and drive continuous improvements.
Collaborate with Business Units to integrate SAFETY requirements into business operations.
Communicate SAFETY, and Product Compliance performance to Executive Management and stakeholders.
Manage additional assigned tasks or deliverables as assigned within timelines and to assist with meeting MATHESONs Quality, and Profitability objectives.
Collect, monitor, and analyze SAFETY data to support the current company sustainability programs.
Prepare and submit necessary regulatory reports to federal, state, and local agencies to maintain compliance with SAFETY permits, laws, and requirements
Communicate incident reporting and SAFETY Compliance performance to parent company.
Administer Workers Compensation program.
Participate in Compressed Gas Association (CGA) committees as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Education Details
Required
Bachelors or Masters degree in Safety/Safety Engineering,Chemistry, Engineering, or related technical discipline isrecommended/preferred. Applicant should possess a minimum of twelve (12) yearsrelated experience including all elements of SAFETY strategy and execution,five (6) years of Senior Leadership experience, SAFETY compliance managementexperience with industry or government, including a minimum of two (2) to three(3) years in plant operations compliance, including process or manufacturing witha direct involvement with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)regulations, Construction Safety regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM),and Risk Management plan activities. Possesses a wide knowledge of Federal,State, and Local regulations regarding relevant SAFETY topics and generalindustrial SAFETY related to plant processes.

Must be willing and able to travel by air or vehicle to required locations
Previous SAFETY experiences and a knowledge base of SAFETY regulations
Previous experience with Workers Compensation, Insurance, and Medical Claims Management programs
Detailed knowledge of OSHA regulations
Ability to work well with others as an effective team player
Understand and determine risks associated with the liquid and compressed gases
Knowledge and skill set to understand Product Stewardship, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Medical Labeling and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other applicable safety standards
Must have a succinct technical writing style
Must be able to travel internationally and maintain a current Passport
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relatedcertification Obtained through testing training Required/Preferred
