Job Title:Security Systems CoordinatorDepartment:Administration and Planning | DPS Communication and Central Alarm Center

The Security Systems Coordinator position is responsible for requests for video evidence by collecting and distributing pertinent video evidence in a timely manner. The position also assists (and/or conducts where applicable) the division in projects involving the installation, setup, maintenance, and repair of all cameras, programming, and video monitoring equipment reporting to and viewed within the Department of Public Safety. Coordinates IP and networking issues with local and network administrators to provide video access for DPS. Assists the Security Technology Team in problem solving or troubleshooting security systems and related equipment issues.

Function Statement:

The Security Systems Coordinator position functions as part of the public safety information technology team that leads the administration of the Department of Public Safety information technology and security systems.

The position is responsible for the timely management of CCTV video exports for public records, law enforcement, and university functions. The position also assists the division with the installation, setup, maintenance, and repair of security technology equipment reporting to and viewed within the Department of Public Safety.

Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of relevant experience required. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required. Valid drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree or technical school training in electronics desired.

Experience with CCTV system operation or management on large, multi-site systems.

Experience or training with Genetec Security Center.

Additional Information

Subject to 24-hour call in. Days and hours may vary. May be required to work special events such as football, student move in, commencement and other large events.

This position is identified as an Essential position, whose presence is required regardless of the existence of an emergency condition, and whose absence from duty could endanger the safety and well-being of the campus population and/or physical plant.

Additional Information:

The target hiring range for this job profile is $ 19.09 - 25.10/hr. The actual rate paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
